Exoticism is the creation of the exotic. When we see the commercial it doesn't take more than a few seconds for us to think India. Not because I've ever seen India with my own eyes, or even any real documentaries about it, but since globalization has occurred and is occurring at an accelerated rate we become more aware (if not necessarily with the real place) but the idea of other places and cultures. Many, if not all, of what Conan does in the video doesn't really reflect the majority of Indian life or culture. When Conan is dying the clothe but talking to the Indian women the way we think many American women would gossip it is an example of hybridity or 2 cultures coming together.
